Exchange of best practices in implementation of EU CBC programmes in Ljubljana, Slovenia

In Cooperation with Government Office for Development and EU Cohesion Policy of Republic of Slovenia, IPA CBC Programme Kosovo – Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia 2014 -2020 organized a three day exchange visit in Ljubljana, Slovenia

Participants from Operating Structures in Kosovo and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and representatives of JTS/antenna Office had the opportunity to learn about Slovenian experience in managing and implementing the CBC programmes and other EU financial assistance.

The main purpose of the visit was to increase the basic understanding of key factors for successful Programme management, Programme objectives and their definition, monitoring practices, work of the Joint Monitoring Committee and other.

During the visit the participants had the opportunity to learn the about the EU programmes Slovenia participates and the Slovenian experience with cross border cooperation, start-up challenges, short term and long term benefits, as well as the challenges Slovenia faced during the managing and implementation of the programmes.

The role of the Joint Technical Secretariat and the responsibilities for better implementation of the programme and the increased visibility of the programmes, financed projects and impact of the programme/projects was presented. Also the Electronic Monitoring System and first level control was explained and discussed.

In the third day, the participants went for field visit in Stanjel to projects on protection and promoting cultural and natural heritage financed by Cross Border Cooperation programme Italy - Slovenia.
